Wayne Appleby

Born in the State of Tasmania, the island state of Australia. Wayne started playing as a musician in the mid 1950s when Rock 'n' Roll burst onto the scene making his first trip to Nashville in 1983. Nashville being the home of Country music.

Wayne has spent 40 years as a professional musician in live touring, TV, recording, show production and management in Australia, New Zealand and the USA. (Recorded over 300 albums as a session player)

Wayne was an assistent director and producer of Music Video clips and he appeared as a musician in the movie "Flying Chips" in 1975, and was one of the musicians that recorded the score of the Australian film " Burning Fields" in the late 1980s.

In 1982 Wayne was awarded a life membership in the Hall of Fame Steel Guitar Australia

Wayne also graduated at the Jeffran Collage of Steel Guitar Music in Nashville Tennessee USA in 1983

Wayne was made the Honourary Citizen of the State of Tennessee USA by the Governor in 1991 for his services to Country Music.

Wayne has toured with such people as Jean Stafford, Slim Whitman, Charley Pride, Frank Ifeild, Daniel O'Donnell, Reg Lyndsay. Kitty Wells, Dr Hook and many more.
