This is a Tribute to the Late Julian Winston
known fondly as 'Winnie Winston'

1941 - 2005

Winnie was the sort of person you really warmed to quickly. He was an extremely good Pedal Steel Guitar player and he also had written books on these guitars too. He was known world wide for his prowess in Pedal Steel Guitar playing as he attended many Conferences in the USA and in Australia. Winnie's Web site has been left on the Internet since he left us so feel free to go there and find out more about him. http://www.julianwinston.com

REST IN PEACE JEAN

The Brisbane Steel Guitar Club deeply regrets to advise members & friends, of the passing of a very valued member, tireless worker and supporter of our club.  Jean Hutchison, mother of Allen and Ken passed away unexpectedly, on 27th October 2009.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Allen and  the Hutchison family, at this sad time.  Allen, if there is "ANYTHING" that the club, or any of the members can do to help you, we are here for you.  Your Mum was always there for us and rest assured, we are all here for you.

Jean always said, that if she was around with us long enough to see her Idol  "Andre' Rieu" in concert, she would be very happy lady.  She received her wish.

REST IN PEACE JEAN you will be sadly missed

REST IN PEACE JOHN

It is with great sorrow that we advise club members of the death of our former Club President  Mr. John Guye.

John lost his12 month battle with liver cancer on 2rd April 2008.  John was solely responsible for sponsoring to our Australian Festival, Sarah Jory & the great Joe Wright & never asked for anything in return.  He has been missing from our club meetings lately, as he was trying to set up a business in China. John will be laid to rest on Tuesday 8th April 2008 at Winchelsea Victoria, where he grew up. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. John was 62.
