American Country Music has influenced Samson from his growing years to adulthood, and in particular Merle Haggard, Charlie Pride and Hank Williams. Through this influence Samson developed a love for singing and song writing and started to play the guitar at 13 yrs old.

With backyard sing-a-longs and Garage Jam-sessions he soon began to appear at Parties and went on to support Artists. Samson played with such artists as Roger Knox and Greg Kernihgan.

Later Samson went on to win the first Talent Quest that he entered. In 1999 he stepped into the festival circuit of the Country Music Club Scene and in 2000 was in the semi-finals at the Qld Champion of Champions.

Among his most prestigious awards are the: 2001 Duet section of the CMAA Jamboree Quest with Les Stewart and 2003 Indigenous Showcase. It was however after winning the Song Writing section at the Redlands Modern Country Music Club 2001 Festival that Samson was able to record and produce his first single containing his own original material. Samson’s single, ‘There Are No Strangers Here’ features his own song ‘Friends We Haven’t Met’ and the winning song, ‘Give In To Win’ as well as Samson’s favourite cover ‘The Midnight Special’.

Samson has now made a CD with Michel Rose as his Pedal Steel Guitarist and this will be on sale at the 10th Anniversay Steel Guitar Festival.
