In
1970 Murray and his wife Ruth began the Tauranga Country Music
Club, which really thrived and is still going today.
Murray was a very popular Music Teacher in his home
town and he was teaching over 70 pupils during the 1970s. His
Musical reputation followed him across the Tasman Sea, so when
he arrived in Brisbane and he soon became involved with Music
again..
Murray moved over to Australia in 1981 and began
playing music in Brisbane and formed a band called The Country
Knights, and this band backed the likes of Pam Shelton, Billy
and Bluey Masters, and John Mc Sweeney to name but a few. He has
done session work for Dave Reynolds and he also did Radio shows
in New Zealand. He was asked by the late Tex Morten to back him
when he was making an E.P record in Auckland, New Zealand, in
about 1977. He didn't hear the outcome until listening to the
Radio here in Australia in the 1990s when a local Radio Station
played the song.
Needless to say, Murray has had a busy and talented
Musical Career over the years, which has given him a lot of enjoyment. |
