A lot of you would know Larry from the Brisbane Steel Guitar Club meetings and he wants you all to know that he really loves Pedal Steel guitars.

Larry was born in 1944 and was raised on Country Music, Slim Dusty and Tex Morton (names that will never die, here in Austrailia).

His first guitar was a 'trapezium shaped box' made by a neighbour who sang only Buddy Williams songs. After Larry had learnt a few chords his father bought him a Sampson - wow a real guitar for 5 pounds!

In 1952 Larry saw Frank Ifield in a music shop Casino, and he had a big yellow guitar with 'f' holes in it. This was before Frank's "I Remember You." Larry is the eldest of 12 children and grew up on a dairy farm. The only radio station they could get was 2LM, and quite a few relatives played instruments, so I guess Larry was born a lover of music

Larry has a wide range of music that he plays on his Pedal Steel Guitar and this ranges from Country to Mozart. Currently Larry is playing Memories, Overhead the Moon is Beaming and Mozart Piano 21etc.

Larry says and I quote: "I guess this instrument is a beast, but it sure sounds good to me and at 60yrs old, I'm not going to make it as one of the world greats, but who knows, perhaps some great player will one day continue what I've started." unquote.

Larry would also like us to know that he entered a Talent Search at Scottie's Convention in the U.S.A. The Talent Search was held on the Thursday night on the main stage.

Larry has made some CDs and is selling them from his Website www.wheylite.com.au then to flag, then 'other products'.

NOTICE:
Larry has, up to date, written The Steel Guitar Addicts Magazine which he put a lot of work into and posted it out approximately Bi-Monthly. Larry has now found that he can no longer put the magazine out, and it was after much deliberation that he decided to quit. On behalf of the Brisbane Steel Guitar Club I would like to say a big thank to you Larry for all the work you put into the Magazine, with it's Tabs, Steel Guitar information and articles and also Club Notices.
