With partner DONNA-MARIE, he sailed as a cruise ship entertainer
for over a dozen years. In 1999 the couple were featured on the
Seven Network’s ‘Hot Property’ as they sold up
and took to the road in their customised coach, ‘The Minstrel’.
Sadly, Donna-Marie has had to retire on doctor’s advice and
their roving days are over.
A Part Of Me is Hank’s second solo album. His smooth velvety
style perfectly suits his strength, the love ballads that shine
so brightly, Part Of Me, My Own Peculiar Way, Eighteen Yellow Roses
and Stops Along The Way. Hank also contributes an instrumental version
of Camooweal played on the pedal steel.
The album ends with his much-requested version of Old Farts In Caravan
Parks, a tribute to his roaming ‘Minstrel’ days.
A good album, 15 songs sung and played with warm genuine feeling.
