Well our 14th Festival is now over and what a Festival it was. It was held in a new venue and all reports came from many people who thoroughly enjoyed the festival this year.

Although the Festival was split into 2 events a Daytime and a Nighttime event people in general stayed for both sections and the lovely room it was held in was always buzzing and always full. Everything ran smoothly and everyone was friendly.

In this Gallery I am going to introduce a few people who we can really be proud of because without them there wouldn't have been a festival. Every year they work behind the scenes and give the

Artists who played a Certifcate of gratitude and have no gratitude themselves. I really think they deserve a huge applause. I am sure there many more out there and I apologise for not being able to name you all. You know who you are and we thank you.

Now without further ado here are the known people.
Noel and Shirley Anstead
Adrian and Livvy Bramich
Noel and Shirley Anstead Co. founders of the Club and who arranged most of the Festival Adrian and Livvy Bramich Co Founder of the Club and Emcee

Our Volunteers who are always ready to help on the Saturday and Sunday. Selling Raffle Tickets, giving directions and generally making themselves very useful.

From left to right are: Keith Simmons (ex President now living in Perth), Maureen Black, without Maureen at our Club meetings no one would get a cup of tea, thank you Maureen, Barry Smart is known for being a kind and generous soul, thank you Barry, Stuart Elphinston helps with the Advertising, and Graham Rampton who always donates a lovely raffle that everyone scrambles to win each year.

THE VERY ACCOMPLISHED ARTISTS
Micky Riffs Band with Liam Alistair
The show started with a bang when Liam and Mickey Riff's Band hit the stage. Liam has a great voice and he was backed by some fine Musicians. Unfortunately the band played too many numbers to list. Great to see the Ole Slap Bass back though and the Fiddle Next up was Alistair Mc Pherson with "Crazy Arms". Alistair not only plays a Pedal Steel but he sings as well, which not many players do. We couldn't do without Alistair either as every year Alistairs shares his sound system with the Club for the day. Thank you Alistair it is always much appreciated.

Murray Ardern

Nick O'Neil

Murray Ardern gave the folk his rendition of "She Called me Baby", plus others on the E9th tuning. Murray began his career at age 14 on a Lap Steel and has slowly graduated through the years to the Pedal Steel. Nick O'Neill lives in Sydney and always joins us at our Festival. This was Nick's first year of playing at the Festival on the main Concert. He did very well and played San Antonio Rose among other tunes.

Bush Fire

This year was also Mickey Riff's first year of playing at our Festival and he can be proud of himself as he did very well. Mickey played "Swinging Doors" amongst others. Bushfire is a top show band, who really got the audience going. They played both Country and Blue Grass. Their instruments consisted of Mandolin,a Banjo, Dobro,Bass Guitar and Spanish Guitar. Their lady singer was great with perfect Harmonies and they were fun. Thankyou, everyone enjoyed your spot on the Programme

John McKeough and Band

Ivan Posa

John Mc Keough and The Old Country Band came all the way down to Brisbane from Rockhampton and Gladstone, that is a fair few Kms to travel. Amongst the songs they played were "Anybody going to San Antone" and "Do what you do,do well". Thank you for helping to make the day a success. Ivan Posa all the way from Hamilton North Island New Zealand. Amongst his repertoire he played "Farewell Party" and made a really good job of all the songs he played. Thank you Ivan.

Here are a couple of pics of the crowd that was gathered on Saturday. As you can see we had a really good turn out and it was a pleasure to know that everyone enjoyed themselves.

Ken Kitching Ken Kitching

We were really Honoured to have Ken Kitching join us during the afternoon and he did us proud. He had 2 musicians who had travelled all the way up from Sydney which is close to 1200kms. Both Nuki Waaka and Benny King are singers as well and musicians and their Harmonies were just beautiful. Kenny mostly played Hawaiian music on his 3 bed Pedal Steel Guitar., Beyond the Reef, Hawaii Tattoo, Hawaiian Hotel March plus a few others. He then played "In the Mood" and "Cold, Cold Heart" plus others on the C6 and E9 tunings.

The photo on the right is Kenny showing us his 7 stringed Dobro and telling about how it got "lost" at an Airport, only to be found in a Pawn Shop!! Needless to say Kenny was very happy to have his guitar back.

Ken Kitching

Jeff and Kenny

Ray Hassler

Above is Jeff and Kenny posing with one of his admirers.

He posed with many but tis photo is of Jeff Spencer from Nambour.

Above is Ray the Hat Hassler. Ray played "Faded Love" really smoothly and one of his musicians Leith Ryan sang "Your Cheating Heart" plus others of course.

HALL OF FAME AWARDS
Benny Joyner Jack Richards
Benny Joyner who did so much for Steel Guitar music was INDUCTED INTO THE HALL OF FAME. Benny's award was post humous and Noel Anstead received the award on behalf of his family. Jack Richards who made the first cabinet model of the Steel Guitar in Australia in 1943 was also INDUCTED INTO THE HALL OF FAME. Graham Griffith received the award on behalf of Jack as he was unable to be at the Festival

Graham Griffiths Mike Tyne
Graham Griffith and his wife Jenny were very entertaining, Graham plays the Pedal Steel while Jenny sings and backs Graham on the Guitar. Well done. Mike Tyne only just made it to the Festival and had to arrive late due to some inclement weather. However Mike arrived and his playing was excellent. He played Sleep Walk, Bud"s Bounce and Crazy Arms

Paddy Long

Bob Alloway

Paddy Long all the way from the South Island of New Zealand, but I bet he enjoyed being a little warmer than it's been over there. Anyway Paddy played some really well known songs and amongst them were "All My Loving" and "I Don't Get Around Much Anymore" and dedicated that tune to all the "oldies" in the audience. Cheeky!! Bob Alloway is a really faithful member of the Club and always pleases the Audience every time he plays. This year among others he played "Pick Me Up on Your Way Down" and "You win again"

Houseband

These guys were the backing band for the whole concert. Nobody could praise them enough. They backed almost everyone with no practice at all. Great playing Guys.

from left to right: Mick Saile (bass), Bill Turgon (drummer) and Peter Tunin (lead)

Your music was much appreciated guys everyone loved it.
